Findings

Look carefully at the two views of this patient's cervical spine. The patient has has hardware placed to fuse two vertebrae.

  1. Can you determine which two vertebral bodies have been fused?

    C3-C4
    Incorrect. Use both views to count the number of vertebrae from the skull base inferiorly. Try again.
    C4-C5
    Incorrect. Use both views to count the number of vertebrae from the skull base inferiorly. Try again.
    C5-C6
    Correct! This patient has had a fusion of C5-C6. Good job!
    C6-C7
    Incorrect. Use both views to count the number of vertebrae from the skull base inferiorly. Try again.
